In 1918, Ivy Lee shared a piece of advice with Charles M. Schwab. It took just under 30 minutes, but for the work Lee was paid $25,000 ($400,000 in today’s dollars). The system he outlined for Schwab was simple and effective. It was also the most profitable piece of advice Schwab had ever received.
